 May we introduce ourselves?
My name is Rene Terlouw and beside me is my wife Sarah Terlouw, together we organize the Thailand Thai Festival and many other events.
Long time we walk with the idea to create a place for Dutch, Thai and other interested people, to learn about Thai people, Thailand and Thai culture in general.
With this idea in mind we start in 2007 to organizing a Thai festival.
The festival should be representive for Thailand and the Thai community in Europe, a festival for young and old people, for anyone who is interested in Thailand, Thai culture and Thai products.
The first Thailand Festival in 2008 which was immediately a great success, over 20,000 visitors came to see the festival.
Due to the success of the Thailand Festival 2008 we decided to continue the festival, but the structure had to different; medio June 2009 we grounded a non-profit foundation with the name "Kon Thai"specially for this kind of activities.
The name indicates what the foundation does, organise Thai cultural events where Thai culture can be preseved and maintained.
With the organising of Thai events we can support other foundations and various projects, both here and in Thailand in financial or material.

We can organize the festival not only achieve, but with the help of volunteers, businesses, organizations, institutions and the Thai Embassy in the Netherlands, which we are gratefull for there help and support.
Especially we thank the group of enthusiastic volunteers for their efforts before, during and after the events.
Without the help of these volunteers, as the Thailand Festival events can not be organized!
